The problems of utilization of the Chinese residue theorem (CRT) for image coding in the systems of image registration, storage, processing and translation are touched upon. The number-theoretic algorithms using the CRT permit the digital image structure to be adapted to parameters of the iconic systems. The image transformation based on CRT is isomorphic with respect to the linear operators. Classical number-theoretic coding on the base of number and polynomial residues does not allow to realize the whole possibilities of iconic systems. The new method of image coding, based on nonclassical CRT utilization, is suggested. This method allows to use the speed of response and accurecy of the iconic systems more successfully. The main factors restricting the possibilities of the method are analized.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
