New terpenyl sulfides of the pinane series have been synthesized from (-)-b-pinene, cis-and trans-verbenols, and myrtenol. Screening for antifungal activity of the monoterpenoids of the pinane series has been carried out. The relationship between the structure and antifungal properties of the synthesized compounds has been established.
The Department of Skin and Venereal Diseases is one of the oldest departments of Kazan State Medical University. It originates in the bowels of the medical faculty of the Kazan Imperial University. The founder and first head of the Department of Skin and Syphilitic Diseases was Professor A.G. Ge. There are three periods in the development of the scientific school, which differ in research issues and teaching methods. The first period from the birth of the school of A.G. Ge until the end of the 1920s, it is characterized by the fight against syphilis, which is reflected in the name of the department of skin and syphilitic diseases. The starting point of the second period in the history of the Kazan school of Dermatovenereology can be considered 1930, when the medical faculty of the university formed an independent institute the Kazan State Medical Institute. At this stage, it is difficult to identify the main scientific direction, the research was carried out based on the urgent tasks of the time. The third stage (from the 1970s to the present) is characterized by research into issues of allergy and its skin manifestations. Employees of the Department of Dermatovenerology of the Kazan State Medical University are currently continuing the main traditions of the Kazan dermatovenerological school.
INTRODUCTION: Psoriasis is a common multifactorial chronic dermatosis. Despite numerous studies, its pathogenesis is still not fully understood. Currently, great importance is given to disorders in the regulation of the immune system. Knowledge of the key links of pathogenesis, the main cytokines allow us to purposefully act on them, leading to a stop in the cascade of immune-mediated inflammation reactions. It is for the treatment of psoriasis in dermatology that biological drugs were first used. AIM: is to assess the development of theoretical and practical approaches to the use of biological drugs for the treatment of psoriasis. The analysis of literature data is carried out. We studied the sources of Russian and foreign literature on the biological therapy of psoriasis, published from 2004 to 2019. RESULTS: Based on a systematic assessment of the experience of clinical use of biological therapy of psoriasis, the historical aspects of improving the points of application of drugs are studied. The first drugs were targeted by T cells, which were assigned a leading role in the development of psoriasis, then by pro-inflammatory cytokines: TNFa, later -- IL-12 and IL-23. However, uncontrolled inhibition of the basic components of the immune defense could lead to side effects in the form of reactivation of infectious processes in the body, a decrease in antitumor activity. Modern drugs have become highly selective, their point of application is inhibition of the A-17 receptor. An assessment of the evolution of medicines registered in the Russian Federation and in the United States was carried out. CONCLUSION: A comparative assessment of the therapeutic response to biological therapy according to the PASI index showed that the netakimab as well as secucinumab and icsecizumab demonstrates low immunogenicity and high therapeutic effect in patients with severe forms of psoriasis.
Basal cell skin cancer (BCС) is the most common malignancy that is found in dermatological practice. The purpose of the study: to determine the structure of clinical manifestations of BCС in ambulant dermatological patients. The study was conducted from 2015 to 2017 in a private clinic in Kazan, which has a license to provide medical care in the specialties "dermatovenerology" and "surgery". We studied the results of examination of 2730 patients with skin tumors available in outpatient cards. 101 patients with histologically verified BCС were examined, including 29% of men (n=29) and 71% of women (n=72), the average age was 59.7±14.9 years (median – 61.5 years). The percentage of patients with BCС among patients with all skin malignancies at the dermatological reception was 95.3% (n=101). Most often, patients aged 60-74 years suffered from BCС: women – in 21.0% (n=21) and men – in 16.0% (n=16), respectively. The proportion of women aged 45-59 years was significantly higher – 20.0%, than the proportion of men – 9.0% (p<0.05). Men were significantly more likely to see a dermatologist – 55.0% in less than a year from the onset of the disease, than women – 21.4% (p<0.01). The proportion of women (44.6%) who noted the appearance of a tumor over a long period (≥5 years) was significantly less than the proportion of men 15.0% (p<0.05). The most common variant of BCС was the nodular form n=77 (76.2%), in which the primary elements of 80.5% were identified by dermatologists as single 5-10 mm papules. The oculo-fronto-nasal region was involved in the pathological process in 47.5% (n=48) of cases, which is significantly more frequent than in other localisations (p<0.05). Dermatoscopy improved the visualization of the atypical vascular network.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
