The article monitors scientific material to determine the real state of the issue of processing of hemp raw materials into household textiles and the possibility of intensifying of textile production through the development of new methods of industrial hemp fiber cottonization. It has been established that a network of enterprises, which announce the release and sale of textile products made using hemp, is actively developing in Ukraine. However, the offered products of our own production are represented mainly by non-woven and twisted products, and the share of textiles from woven and knitted fabrics in comparison with hemp products of imported origin is small. This is due to the fact that for its production it is necessary to apply complex processes of processing hemp fibers into yarn, for the development of which there are currently no appropriate technologies in Ukraine. Thus, the development of technologies for the deep processing of industrial hemp into spinning fiber is that topical direction of the domestic textile industry, which can ensure sustainable growth of the hemp processing industry on its own raw material baseю Comparative characteristics of the most common methods of cottonization of bast fibers are given. Analyzing their advantages and disadvantages and considering the destruction of encrusting substances in complex industrial hemp fibers as a model of the cleaning process from impurities, it was suggested that known cleaning technologies using ultrasound in an aqueous medium can be applied to them, which is confirmed by the positive experience of using ultrasonic cavitation for cleaning surface from dirt, the development of cavitation devices for the extraction of pectin substances of plant raw materials and the use of ultrasonic treatment to intensify the process of mechanical cottonization of hemp fiber. These studies made it possible to substantiate the advisability of using ultrasonic cavitation in technologies for processing industrial hemp into spinning fiber.
