The scientific article presents the results of the development of a method for improving the properties of soil-cement pile foundations by the drilling-mixing method using mechanical activation of soil-cement mixture in filler soils. Two methods for improving filler soils are considered. The choice of the mathematical methods for the research is justified. The feasibility of a complex combination of mathematical modeling methods and experimental design to achieve the goal set in this scientific article is substantiated. The physicomechanical characteristics of soil-cement are considered: a measure of brittleness, brittleness coefficient, compressive strength, splitting strength, strength variation coefficient. Based on the research, practical recommendations are given for improving soil-cement pile foundations.

The tasks of diagnostic operation and monitoring of the technical condition of unique buildings and structures are outlined. The requirements for unique buildings and structures are presented. Various schemes of devices and appliances making up the measuring systems are presented in the paper. The types and schemes of primary transducers based on fiber-optic sensors are considered in greater details. A distributed thermometry system is described as well as a distributed temperature sensor based on Raman scattering. The results of deformation testing of a fastening device equipped with a sensor element are presented. The sensitive element of the fastening device is made in the form of a fiberoptic sensor of linear displacements based on the Fabry-Perot interferometer.
The article considers the technical and economic efficiency of the construction of pile foundations by the mixing method with mechanical activation of soils. Various designs and technologies for the construction of pile foundations are analyzed. The main most promising technological processes for the manufacture of pile foundations are described. The advantages of constructing pile foundations by a mixing method with mechanical activation of soils are substantiated. The results of calculations of comparing technical and economic indicators for the construction of types and designs of foundations are presented. Conclusions and recommendations on the construction of foundations of low-rise buildings are given.
Wood properties have successfully established themselves in the building structures. Very important to know expected wood losses in production. Losses are considered throughout the process of woodworking from sawmilling to obtaining glued blank. Research results were an assessment of losses in production of glued window beam as an example and substantiation of recommendations to production of wooden window blocks for choosing the type of primary source material: roundwood or edged sawn timber.
