In the modern global world, a study on mentality as a main characteristic of the nation which defines the unity of the religious and cultural tradition of the society is conditioned with the need to develop an effective international religious and cultural cooperation. The purpose of the analysis is to determine religious factors in shaping the Ukrainian mentality taking into account its historical background and the challenges of modernity. The study methodology is based on the principles of the non-confessional approach and philosophical pluralism, involving a system of methods, namely: historical, dialectical, comparative methods, synthesis, and generalization. In the conclusions it is emphasized that mentality is one of the forms of the social experience accumulation, the set of historically accepted ideas, viewpoints, stereotypes, forms and behavior which are laid down is the public consciousness by means of education, culture, religion, a language through the years. Every mental formation has its imaginary lines of a friend and foe which were formed by ideologies, beliefs, and religious values. The religious factors in the formation of mentality reflect the role of the Church as the main regulator of the social life. In the social environment of the Ukrainian nation, a temple can be seen as a peculiar archetypical formation, the part of the landmark, symbolic, communicative, and informational religious system which regulates the public consciousness and it is an integral part of the national memory. The mental archetypes of the national identity stem from the phenomenon of the borderlands, and have shaped in the social context the desire for personal freedom, patriotism, social activity; in the spiritual dimension, it is a willing for the inner world to be protected, sacrifice, mercy, non-violence.
The article is devoted to an analysis of the essence of information culture as the main factor of security of a social information system in the context of globalization challenges of today's information threats.The essence of information culture is defined as the main means of the formation of an information worldview of society at all stages of information and communication revolutions. Value orientations of information culture are analyzed in the context of the formation of ideology of knowledge society, namely: free access to knowledge as a prerequisite for human dignity and freedom, opposition to the transformation of knowledge into a commodity, which generates a desire for a monopoly on information resources as a statement of power at all levels -personal, corporate, nationwide and international.Key words: information society; society of knowledge; information culture; information system; information; information war; psychological war; information worldview. The article is devoted to the role of information culture in ensuring the effectiveness of knowledge management at the university. Based on the ideas of P. Drucker and I. Nonaka on the need for continuous self-education of the individual using professional collective experience in the process of practical training, means of improving the efficiency of knowledge management are considered, in particular, introduction of innovative leadership models, research activity expansion, creation of conditions for improving the system of advanced training, the formation of an electronic knowledge base as a reflection of the collective intellectual potential and labor market analytics with the subsequent involvement of advanced ideas to improve the professional competencies of graduates. In the knowledge management at the university, information culture performs a number of important functions: educational, ideological, communicative, technological, the function of preserving social memory. Proposed approaches to the analysis of information culture are: information (as a body of knowledge, skills and abilities to effectively meet information needs), communicative (the required level of communication competence), culturological (providing a holistic vision of the world based on the values of its spiritual development), technological (skills and abilities to work in the IT-sphere), methodological (methods of operating information arrays), management (effective management of information resources). The conclusions emphasize that the information culture at the university is formed by cognitive and epistemic expectations anticipated in the implementation of tasks and decision-making. The information culture of the university is based on organizational values, leadership, norms and conduct regarding the exchange and use of information, and the possibility of digital rethinking of knowledge management is largely determined by a clear organizational strategy aimed at innovation. Measures aimed at improving the level of students’ information culture mobilize analytical approaches in the evaluation of information, improve the quality of work with information resources and network systems, contribute to the generation of knowledge and their practical use in future professional experience.
