The current research aimed to develop conceptual understanding, life and career skills, and interest in science for students of the first grade of middle school by using a proposed instructional model based on the integration between brain compatible learning and citizen science projects. To achieve this aim, the descriptive method and the two groups -control and experimental-method were used. The tools of the research included: a test of conceptual understanding, an observation sheet of life and career skills, and a scale of interest in science. The research experiment was applied to a control group represented by 17 students and an experimental group formed of 20 students from the first grade of middle school in the academic year 2021-2022. The main results indicated: the development of conceptual understanding, life and career skills, and interest in science for students of the first grade of middle school who used the proposed instructional model based on the integration between brain compatible learning and citizen science projects. In light of the research results, the recommendations emphasized: the need to include the proposed instructional model in pre-service and in-service teacher education programs and encourage partnership among science teachers, students and Egyptian university professors to work on developing citizen science projects.
The current research aimed to investigate the impact of a proposed program based on peace education to develop cognitive performance, emotional intelligence, and peaceable classroom management skills for biology student teachers. To achieve this aim, the descriptive method and the one group, prepost-test experimental method were used. The tools of the research included: An open and closed questionnaire, a cognitive performance test, an emotional intelligence scale (Bar -on and Parker), and an observation sheet of peaceable classroom management skills. This program was applied to 25 biology student teachers at the Faculty of Education, Alexandria University. The main results of this research indicated: (1) the low level of biology student teachers" perceptions about peace education, (2) the development of cognitive performance, emotional intelligence and peaceable classroom management skills of biology student teachers who studied the proposed Program based on peace education. In light of the research results, the recommendations emphasized the need to spread a culture of peace education, because of its implications for improving teacher practices, the classroom environment, and student learning.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
