Gear skiving using the meshing of crossed helical gears attracts attention as thc hopeful gear cutting method avail − able to cut e 笛 ciently both｛ ntemal and exterllal gears． In this case ， it is known that three kindg ． of tool gears are used ． In this paper ， the calculation method of these tool gear profiles are developed ， and also tbc charactcrlstics of gear skiv − ing are discussed through the calculation examples ， especially when tbe cylindrical gear type cutters are used ．
