0056 - Role of High-Flow Nasal Cannula Therapy in Severe Bronchiolitis

Abstract

Wang Score = 10 (8 -12)  Delay between admission and initiation of HFNC therapy 5 hours (0 -48h)  Median initial flow rate= 6 l/min (6 -10 l/min)  Evolution:  Decreasing respiratory rate 2h after initiation of HFNC: 14 cases  Decreasing heart rate 2 h after initiation of HFNC : 10 cases  Secondary bacterial infection: 15 cases (50%)  Success of HFNC  18 cases (60%) Oxygen therapy by HFNC = 2.2 days (1 -9 days)  Failure of HFNC  ICU: 12 cases (40%)  Lenght of mechanical ventialation= 5 days (2 -6)  Lenght of ICU stay= 8 days (3 -12)  Lengh of hospital stay= 10 days ( 4 -21)  Skin lesions du to HFNC= 2 cases Predictive factors of HFNC therapy failure (p<0,05)
