1.4: A New Halo Artifact Measurement Method for Automotive Local Dimming System

Abstract: To quantify the visual effect of local dimming products by optical parameters, a complete halo testing methodology was proposed. Besides, the fitting curve between Halo and Halo CR (contrast ratio) was also presented. Based on which Halo CR of different local dimming backlights with various zones and LED types can be simulated.
