(11S)-(+)-N,N′-Dimethylcinchoninium diiodide

Abstract: The title compound, (+)‐4‐[hydroxy(1‐methyl‐5‐vinyl‐1‐azoniabi­cyclo­[2.2.2]­oct‐2‐yl)­methyl]‐1‐methyl­quinolinium diiodide, C21H28N2O2+·2I−, is formed from optically active (11S)‐(+)‐cinchonine and methyl iodide. The N—Me bond lengths are in the range 1.48 (1)–1.49 (1) Å.
