“…Seven known triterpene glycosides were identified as, quinovic acid‐3‐ O ‐β‐D‐glucopyranosyl‐(28 → 1)‐β‐D‐glucopyranosyl ester ( 2 ), quinovic acid‐3‐ O ‐β‐D‐quinovopyranosyl‐(28 → 1)‐β‐D‐glucopyranosyl ester ( 3 ), quinovic acid‐3‐ O ‐β‐D‐glucopyranoside ( 4 ), quinovic acid‐3‐ O ‐β‐D‐2‐ O ‐sulphonylquinovopyranoside ( 5 ), quinovic acid‐3‐ O ‐β‐D‐quinovopyranoside ( 6 ), quinovic acid‐3‐[β‐D‐xylopyranosyl (1 → 2)‐quinovopyranosyl]‐(28 → 1)‐β‐D‐glucopyranosyl ester ( 7 ), quinovic acid‐3‐ O ‐β‐D‐quinovopyranosyl‐(27 → 1)‐β‐D‐glucopyranosyl ester ( 8 ) by comparing their NMR data with those of reported . A known flavonoid glycoside, isorhamnetine rutinoside ( 9 ), was also identified by spectroscopic data analyses and comparison with literature …”

“…Three new bisdesmosidic triterpene saponins, zygophylosides I, L and M, possessing 3β-hydroxy-urs-20(21)-en-28-oic acid or 3β-hydroxy-27nor-oleanolic-acid as aglycons and three known quinovic acid glycosides, two of them having an -SO 3 H residue on the sugar moieties, were isolated from the aerial parts (Safir et al, 1998). Ursane glycosides (triterpenoid saponins) with an -SO 3 H group on the sugar moiety seem to be characteristic metabolites of the genus Zygophyllum (Ahmad et al, 1993;Hassanean et al, 1993;Pollmann et al, 1997). Extracts of the aerial parts, some partially purified fractions as well as zygophyloside M and 3-O-β-D-glucopyranosyl quinovic acid 28-β-D-glucopyranosyl ester were reported to reduce both electrically-stimulated contractions and morphine withdrawal in isolated guinea-pig ileum (Capasso et al, 1998).…”

“…Also, signal of C-3 appeared at δ 135.14 followed by nonoxygenated carbons C-2 / and C-6 / at δ 131.28 as well as C-3 / and C-5 / at δ 116. 36. The most non-affected quaternary carbons C-1 / appeared at δ 120.37 and C-10 at δ 106.59.…”

“…6 Table 5. 35,36 Acid hydrolysis of compound VII yielded glucose and rhamnose as sugar moiety. A comparison of 13 C-NMR spectrum of compound VII (Table 4) with the literature 34,36 revealed that this compound has quinovic acid as the aglycone part with two glycosidation sides at C-3 and C-28.…”
