Abstract: Key indicators: single-crystal X-ray study; T = 298 K; mean (C-C) = 0.008 Å; R factor = 0.052; wR factor = 0.127; data-to-parameter ratio = 13.4.In the title mononuclear nickel(II) complex, [Ni(C 12 H 17 -N 2 O 2 )(NCS)], the metal atom is four-coordinated in a tetrahedrally distorted square-planar geometry by the phenolate O atom, the imine N atom and the amine N atom of the Schiff base ligand and by the N atom of a thiocyanate ligand.
