2-D DOA Estimation of LFM Signals Based on Dechirping Algorithm and Uniform Circle Array

Abstract: Based on Dechirping algorithm and uniform circle array (UCA), a new 2-D direction of arrival (DOA) estimation algorithm of linear frequency modulation (LFM) signals is proposed in this paper. The algorithm uses the thought of Dechirping and regards the signal to be estimated which is received by the reference sensor as the reference signal and proceeds the difference frequency treatment with the signal received by each sensor. So the signal to be estimated becomes a single-frequency signal in each sensor. Then… Show more

“…Direction of arrival (DOA) estimation is widely used at radar, speech, sonar, communication and other detection equipment [1][2][3][4][5]. For the narrowband signals, traditional subspace algorithms which include the multiple signal classification (MUSIC) algorithm [1] and the estimation of signal parameters via rotational invariance techniques (ESPRIT) [2] have been verified as efficient estimation techniques.…”

“…e signal can be processed according to the aggregation of the LMF signal in the FrFT domain. So far, FrFT is mainly used in DOA [8] to estimate the DOA of wideband LFM signals instead of FFT [9], detect moving target [10], underwater communications [11], and so on. In frame design, Wang et al [12] exploited the wireless channel response and FrFT to achieve anti-eavesdropping downlink transmission over a multipath channel.…”

“…Linear frequency-modulated (LFM), or chirp, signals are frequently encountered in applications such as radar, sonar, bioengineering, and so forth. So the DOA estimation of LFM signals also has become a hot issue in array signal processing [9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17]. As we know, time-frequency (t-f) analysis tools are effective tools to deal with LFM signals because of the concentration property of the signals in the t-f domain, so a series of DOA estimation algorithms based on spatial time-frequency distributions (STFDs) have been proposed [18][19][20][21][22][23][24].…”
