“…For instance, CEUS imaging with time-intensity curve analyses were employed to detect a significant early decrease of tumor vascularization and perfusion in various preclinical tumor models treated with VDAs. 24,25,36,37 This is analogous to the SRUS image derived TMC curve measurements established for our study. Photoacoustic imaging is another noninvasive modality, which functions by using both optical and ultrasound waves to generate images of the tumor vasculature.…”

“…Previous research has also investigated the use of various ultrasound techniques for monitoring tumor response to VDA treatment. For instance, CEUS imaging with time‐intensity curve analyses were employed to detect a significant early decrease of tumor vascularization and perfusion in various preclinical tumor models treated with VDAs 24,25,36,37 . This is analogous to the SRUS image derived TMC curve measurements established for our study.…”

“…Opacic et al showed that US SRI could provide a number of clinical parameters such as velocities and directions of movement in individual vessels which can differentiate tumors with different vascular phenotypes, and it may provide opportunities for functional characterization of tumors and the assessment of therapy response. To assess any early changes in breast cancer following vascular disrupting agent (VDA) treatment, a study using 3-dimensional (3-D) super-resolution ultrasound (SR-US) imaging to observe MVD in breast lesions showed that the MVD of each tumor volume was significantly reduced at 24 hours after VDA treatment (41), indicating the feasibility of super-resolution technique for disease diagnosis via calculating micro-vessel density and microvascular flow rate in masses. However, there is no previous study reported the application of US SRI on human thyroid nodule to differentiate the benign and malignancy.…”
