4d9 → 4d85p transitions in Cd IV, Sn VI, and Sb VII and the resonance lines of Sn V and Sb VI

Abstract: The spectra of cadmium, tin, and antimony have been photographed in the region 600-200 A on 10.7 and 6.6 m grazing incidence vacuum spectrographs usinga triggered spark and a sliding spark as light sources. The analyses of the 4d85p configurations in Cd 1V and Sn VI have been revised and extended. The parametric level fitting calculations and relative oscillator strengths calculations of the allowed transitions confirm the present analyses. The separation of the 4d9 2D rnultiplet in Sb V11 has been determined;… Show more

“…Cd is predicted to be highly enriched by s-process nucleosynthesis models (e.g., Cristallo et al 2015). Cd 3+ has a 4d 9 ground configuration with two levels separated by 5812.6 cm −1 (Joshi & van Kleef 1977), corresponding to a wavelength of 1.7204 µm. Its IP range is 37.5-51.0 eV, similar to Rb 3+ and O 2+ , and thus Cd 3+ should be the most abundant Cd ion in all but low-excitation PNe.…”

“…In the PdI sequence (ground state 4d' 'So), 4d' 4d 4fand 4d Sp transitions have been assigned in Sn v [10,11], Sb vI, Te VII [12], and I vu [13]. In addition, the 4d 6p levels of Sb vt and Te vII and 4d 5f levels of I VIu were deduced in these studies.…”

“…The resonance 4d 9 -4d 8 5p transitions and the transitions between first excited configurations 4d 8 5s and 4d 8 5p were studied in [1,2]. All levels of these configurations were established.…”
