6‐3: Distinguished Paper: Highly Efficient Fluorescent Blue Materials and Their Applications for Top Emission OLEDs

Abstract: We developed new fluorescent blue dopants (BDs) for achieving high efficient blue organic light emitting diode (OLED). The new BD showed both high photoluminescent quantum yield >0.9 and highly horizontal orientation (S'>0.9) in the doped film with keeping a chemical stability by introducing suitable substituents. We developed hole transporting materials and optimized the combination of hole transporting layers to decrease a carrier accumulation at the interface between electron blocking layer/emission layer (… Show more

“…The lifetimes of the OLEDs were measured under 50 mA/cm 2 for the B-and R-OLEDs, and 30 mA/cm 2 Current-voltage characteristics (J-V curves) and chromaticity were measured on a DOEL-001-1 developed by Daitron Technology Co. The measurements were carried out at 25 °C with using the HTDs.…”

“…It is known that light outcoupling efficiency is strongly related to orientation and spectral shape. In SID 2018, we reported BD-1 with PLQY>0.9 and orientation factor S'>0.9, leading to the spectral shape as next leverage for improved device results [5].…”
