The purpose of this study This study aimed to analyze the curricula of Korea, Singapore, and Hong Kong from the perspective of connection -one of the competences of the 2022 national revised mathematics curriculum -and to suggest theoretical ideas for the Korean curriculum. The curricula were divided into three categories, and the criteria for the classification of connection were set into four categories: horizontal and vertical connections in terms of mathematical internal connection, connection through other subjects, and real life in terms of mathematical external connection. The analysis showed that none of the three countries revealed horizontal connections in goals and characteristics. Regarding achievement standards, horizontal connections did not appear in Korea; moreover, this was the case for vertical connections in Singapore as well as vertical connections and connections through other subjects in Hong Kong. All types of connections were reflected in teaching, learning, and assessment, with the exception of Hong Kong's horizontal connection. Therefore, Korea needs to stipulate internal connections in goals and characteristics, reflect horizontal connections in achievement standards, and specify vertical connections in teaching, learning, and assessment. Moreover, specific methods were discussed for Singapore and Hong Kong.

Abstract:This research is development research that aims to develop mathematics teaching materials related to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). This research uses the stages of Research and Development, including problem and data collection, product design, design validation, product test (practicality test), trial test (pretest and posttest), and final product. The results show that teaching materials are valid, practical, and effective to increase mathematical connection ability. The results of the test indicate that teaching materials are valid to use in learning with a percentage of 94.42%. The practicality test results show that teaching materials are easily practised by students, with a percentage of 87.47%. The analysis of the results of the pretest and posttest showed that there was an effective increase in the mathematical connection ability with the n-gain test results of 0.628 on the medium criteria. Thus, mathematics teaching materials in this research can be used in learning, and the copyright was submitted by the electronic intellectual wealth General Directory.Abstract:Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan bahan ajar matematika yang berhubungan dengan Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Penelitian ini menggunakan tahapan penelitian dan pengembangan, yaitu masalah dan pengumpulan data, desain produk, validasi desain, uji produk (tes kepraktisan), uji coba (pretest dan posttest), dan produk akhir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar tersebut valid, praktis, dan efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi matematis. Hasil tes menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar valid untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran dengan persentase 94,42%. Hasil tes kepraktisan menunjukkan bahwa bahan ajar mudah digunakan oleh siswa, dengan persentase 87,47%. Analisis hasil pretest dan posttest menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan yang efektif dalam kemampuan koneksi matematis dengan hasil tes n-gain dari 0,628 pada kriteria medium. Dengan demikian, materi pengajaran matematika dalam penelitian ini dapat digunakan dalam pembelajaran, dan hak cipta disampaikan oleh kekayaan intelektual elektronik direktori umum.

The purpose of this paper is to discover the ethnomathematical potential through the exploration of mathematical concepts in the dancers position movement. It's executed as an effort to answer the challenges of PISA 2018 and present a contextual mathematics learning resource in corresponding with the Indonesian government policy on learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. One of the traditional dances that can be used as an ethnomatematic potential is the Beskalan Putri Malang dance. This dance can be explored based on the movement of dancers position. Then, this model can present a real experience of abstract mathematical concepts. Furthermore, this paper presents several developments based on the exploration of mathematical concepts in Chacarera dance. The mathematical concepts contained in the dance are only limited to the two dimensional spaces, while in this paper are advanced geometry. The qualitative research with a case study approach is used in this paper. The research data are obtained through interviews, documentations, and field notes. Data analysis is carried out through the following steps: 1) planning an exploration of mathematical concepts in the Beskalan Putri Malang dance, 2) sketching the movement of choreography performed by dancers, 3) generating ideas when connecting from one dance movement to another, 4) determining mathematical concepts based on the sketches that have been made, 5) verifying the suitability of mathematical concepts with the understanding of the concepts, and 6) evaluating and reviewing the results of exploration carried out. The results shows that the mathematical concepts included in the Beskalan Putri Malang dance are geometric transformations that contain the concept of translation, rotation, reflection, dilation, and composition of transformation, so that it can be a source of contextual mathematics learning for high school students. Thus, further research is needed to see how students think about building mathematical connections through the exploration of mathematical concepts in The Beskalan Putri Malang dance.
