Bu araştırmanın amacı eğitimde medya okuryazarlığı ile ilgili yayımlanan akademik çalışmaları bibliyometrik açıdan incelemektir. Araştırmada nitel araştırma desenlerinden durum çalışması kullanılmıştır. Çalışma sürecinde WoS veri tabanlarında "Media Literacy" anahtar kelimesi kullanılarak araştırma temalarında arama yapılmıştır. Arama kriteri olarak "doküman başlığı, özet, anahtar kelime" seçilmiştir. Araştırmaya 1970-2021 yılları arasında yayımlanan yayınlar dâhil edilmiştir. WoS 'ta eğitim araştırmaları kategorisinde yer alan 919 akademik çalışmaya ait bibliyometrik veri, çalışmanın veri setini oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada ulaşılan sonuçlara göre; eğitimde medya okuryazarlığı ile ilgili yayımlanan akademik çalışmalar 2008 yılı sonrasında, ilerleyen yıllara paralel bir şekilde artmıştır. Eğitimde medya okuryazarlığı alanında en sık yayın yapılan diller sırasıyla İngilizce, İspanyolca ve Rusça, en çok yapılan akademik çalışma ise makale, bildiri ve kitap bölümüdür. Huelva Üniversitesi, Cantabria Üniversitesi ve Pennsylvania İngiliz Milletler Topluluğu Yükseköğretim Sistemi en çok yayın yapan araştırmacıların bulunduğu kurumlardır. Türkiye'de ise Anadolu Üniversitesi eğitimde medya okuryazarlığıyla ilgili en çok yayın yapan yazarların çalıştığı kurumdur. ABD ve İspanya ise sırasıyla medya okuryazarlığı ile ilgili yayınların en çok yayımlandığı iki ülkedir. 2000 yılı sonrasında yayımlanan akademik yayınların atıf sayılarında, her geçen yıl artan bir durum söz konusudur. Medya okuryazarlığı ile ilgili yapılan akademik yayınlarda en çok kullanılan anahtar kelimeler ise "medya okuryazarlığı, medya eğitimi, eğitim ve dijital okuryazarlık" kavramlarıdır.

The purpose of this study is to examine scientific publications about Geography Education in terms of bibliometric indicators. Case study method, one of the qualitative research methods, was applied in this study. The scanning range of bibliometric data obtained from the WoS database generated by Clarivate Analytics covers the dates between 1975 and March 2020. The bibliometric analysis technique was conducted in the study. As a result of the analyses, it was revealed that 559 of 64,874,978 studies registered in the WoS database between 1975 and 2020 were the studies related to Geography Education. It was also observed that 196 (35.06%) of these records were in the education / training research category. Through the analyses, it was concluded that the most common type of publication related to Geography Education was the articles with a total number of 196. Moreover, it is seen that approximately 106 of the published articles have been published during the years between 2016 and 2020. This rate indicates that the educational researches related to Geography Education have increased in recent years. In addition, at the end of the analyses, it was comprehended that there are 330 different authors contributing to the related field. It was determined that a total of 535 different keywords were utilized in 196 articles, and the most effective journal was the "Journal of Geography and Environmental Education". Besides, it is observed that the researchers from 25 different countries have published some articles that contribute to the field. In this regard, the most active country is the United States, and it is respectively followed by Britain, Australia, and Turkey. That Turkey with 18 articles takes place at the 4 th rank among the 25 different countries indicates that some comprehensive studies related to this field are carried out.

Literacy is a term generally used for adults and young people. Basically, it is an acquisition that includes the process of reading, writing and understanding symbols in any language. While this concept, whose definition and scope has expanded over time, refers to people who can only say their names in the past, today it refers to individuals who can perform more functional skills. What is expected from today’s literacy, which is also referred to as functional literacy, is not just saying the name, but also understanding what you read and harmonizing these information with the environment. It is critical to create texts that are easier to interpret, especially for poor readers and individuals learning foreign languages, in today’s world where reading comprehension and correct use of information have become extremely important. In this context, the text simplification method, which is one of the text modification methods, comes to the fore. In accordance with these information, this current study aims to presents the bibliometric analysis of articles on text simplification, which are published in journals indexed in Scopus database in the field of social sciences. The data set of the study consists of 194 articles on text simplification published in journals scanned in the field of social sciences and scopus database. These 194 articles were examined in terms of different variables. The research is generally a descriptive study and document analysis method was used as a method. In the data analysis stage of the research, VOSviewer visualization software version 1.6.16 was used. According to the results obtained from the study, the most articles on text simplification were written in 2020 (f: 21), most cited article is “Interpretation as Abduction” (f: 363) written by J.R Hobbs, M.E Stickel, D.E. Appelt and P. Martin. Findings obtained from the research were shared in the form of tables, graphs and figures. The most common keywords that preffered by authors is “Simplification” (f: 18). The most cited institution is “Artifical Intelligence Center” (f: 363). The most cited journal is “Artifical Intelligence” (f: 363). The most published country is United States of America (f: 30). The most cited country is United States of America (f: 863). All findings obtained from the research were shared as tables and figures in the findings section.
