A bibliometric analysis of research progress on pharmacovigilance and cancer from 2002 to 2021

Abstract: The complexity of cancer itself and treatment makes pharmacovigilance critical in oncology. Despite rapid progress on pharmacovigilance and cancer research in the past two decades, there has been no bibliometric analysis in this field. Therefore, based on the Web of Science database, we used CiteSpace, VOS-viewer and R-bibliometrix to analyze and visualize publications, and described the development trend and research hot spots in this field. 502 publications were included. The development of pharmacovigilance… Show more

“…The achievement of a thorough and comprehensive comprehension of the intricate mechanisms that govern the interaction between fungi and cancer is an essential prerequisite for developing innovative therapeutic approaches to combat this multifarious and enigmatic disease. In this regard, bibliometric analysis emerges as a quantitative method that meticulously examines scientific publications and citation patterns, furnishing valuable insights into the trajectory and impact of research within a particular domain [ 44 , [46] , [47] , [48] , [49] , [50] , [51] , [102] , [103] , [104] , [105] ]. Through the rigorous scrutiny of publication output and citation trends, researchers can effectively evaluate the current state of research pertaining to the interplay between fungi and cancer, identify significant gaps in knowledge, and discern domains that require further exploration and analysis.…”

“…Generally, Q > 0.3 indicates significant structural division, while S > 0.7 signifies efficient and convincing clustering. [41][42][43] To gain a more visual understanding of the evolving trends of each clustering label over time, this study also presents a map for display in Figure 11B. From the graph, it can be observed that #3 foraminotomy, #6 leg pain, #11 minimally invasive transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion, and #13 unilateral biportal endoscopy are recent hot research topics.…”

“…Therefore, a focus on DA seems timely and Drug Safety, the official journal of the International Society of Pharmacovigilance (ISoP), is one of the journals of choice for researchers in the field. Of note, DAs have also attracted the interest of a number of 'clinical' journals, especially in the field of oncology in immune checkpoint inhibitors [6][7][8].…”
