A circuit design of UWB GPR transient source based on avalanche transistor

Abstract: A circuit design of Ultra-Wideband (UWB) transient source based on avalanche transistor is presented in this paper. Under a 20 V voltage supply, a Ins pulse width and 12 V maximal amplitude periodic pulse is achieved Experimental results show the pulse width is 1.2ns and the peak amplitude is 14Vln addition, the signal waveform is simple, and the energy mainly range from 600MHz to 2GHz, which arefit for the Ground Penetrating Radar(GPR) application. By easily connecting with low noise amplifier and horn antenn… Show more

“…Nanoseconds and sub-nanoseconds pulses have been widely used in many areas because of very wide spectrum, such as Ground-Peneatrating Radar (GPR) [1] , See-Through-Wall Radar System [2] , Biomedical applications [3] , High-speed photography [4] , Ultra-wideband communications [5] and Laser Technology [6] . Therefore, high-voltage and high-speed pulse source has drawn lots of attention.…”
