Abstract:Glomerulonephritis is a major cause of morbidity in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). In fact, immune complex formation and deposition in the kidney results in intraglomerular inflammation with recruitment of leukocytes and activation and proliferation of resident renal cells.
