“…pasteurianus. Four of five isolates were genetically identical to each other, with the fifth isolate closely resembling the other four (7). The etiology of this outbreak was postulated to be environmental contamination followed by transient hand carriage by a staff member; therefore, these infections were likely the result of one index case, followed by a breakdown in infection control measures.…”

“…S. gallolyticus subsp. pasteurianus has been reported to cause human neonatal meningitis and septicaemia (Gavin et al, 2003;Onoyama et al, 2009;Floret et al, 2010;Nagamatsu et al, 2012); however, to our knowledge, there have been no reports of it being isolated from healthy subjects. These facts and our results suggest that S. gallolyticus subsp.…”

“…The number of publications where the causative agent was reported to be S. bovis type II/2 or S. pasteurianus was seven and the total number of cases was 14 (one publication included five cases, one publication included four cases and the other publications included single cases) (1,5,(7)(8)(9)(10)(11). When these cases were examined, it was noted that term and preterm babies were affected equally, early and late infection rates were similar, but early infection was observed in term babies and late infection was observed in preterm babies, no risk factor was present for early and late sepsis, meningitis accompanied 64% of the cases and meningitis was mostly observed in the patients in whom early infection was developed and was manifested with clinical findings similar to group B sterptococci and E. coli infections.…”
