The development of Internet information technology has opened up new potential for the education sector, encouraging the development of innovative teaching and learning methods as well as the optimal use of available educational resources. In this environment, the online plus offline mixed teaching model emerged, which can not only get around time and space restrictions and link smoothly inside and outside the classroom but also enhance the form of teaching and learning and strengthen teacher-student relationships. However, to assure the quality of instruction, this research first examines the successful ways of developing an online plus offline hybrid teaching mode from the perspective of college English professors. Second, in this paper, the support vector machine and particle swarm method are used to build an evaluation model of the English teaching effect. The model has the potential to increase the accuracy and efficiency of English teaching impact evaluation while also meeting the standards of English teaching effect evaluation. The experimental findings show that, while evaluating the effects of college English instruction, the technique beats the comparison algorithm in terms of evaluation accuracy and algorithm time consumption.

The Chinese language is the mother tongue that most students in Singapore need to master. However, for many local students, due to the use of English as the main language in Singapore’s families and the living environment, the time and frequency of using Chinese and the exposure to Chinese characters are relatively insufficient, which leads to a high forgetting rate, confusion of the characters and the improper use of Chinese characters. This study attempts to develop an app of a Chinese character learning game for Singapore primary school students, aiming to stimulate students’ interest in learning Chinese, increase their frequency of contact and use of Chinese characters, and ultimately strengthen their ability to remember, understand and use Chinese characters. By collecting the data from students’ questionnaire surveys, teachers’ questionnaire surveys, students’ literacy tests, and classroom observations, the research team found that the designed app can enhance the interest of lower grade primary school students in learning Chinese and strengthen their ability to memorize and use Chinese characters.

Immersive teaching has achieved remarkable results in bilingual learning. This teaching method creates an immersive environment for learners to understand and use languages. This paper explores the influence of immersive teaching on the learning performance, interest, and satisfaction of Chinese English learners, and provides several suggestions on how to apply immersive teaching. The results show that immersive teaching improves the listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities of students. One semester of immersive teaching improved the scores of listening, reading, speaking, and writing by 6.53%, 6.85%, 5%, and 4.73%, respectively; while two semesters of immersive teaching improved them by 12.46%, 16.03%, 13.55%, and 9.92%, respectively. Thanks to immersive teaching, the students’ interest in English learning soared, and their satisfaction with English learning surpassed 50%. This research lays a theoretical basis for promoting immersive teaching, and improving students’ English learning effect.
