Training nurses on spiritual principles and values helps to stimulate moral imagery and a deep understanding of moral problems in them. However, spirituality issue was not included in ethical educational content. There was still no interventional study on the effect of spirituality education on ethical sensitivity. This study was conducted to determine the effect of spirituality training on moral sensitivity of nursing students. A randomized controlled trial design was used. Data were collected by a moral sensitivity questionnaire and analyzed using Chi-square, Fisher, independent and paired t-test in SPSS 13v. This research was performed on 60 nursing students of Kashan University of Medical Sciences, Iran, in 2018. Participants were randomly assigned to two groups. The intervention group was under the spirituality group training in seven 60 min sessions. The control group was traditionally trained. Baseline characteristics were similar in the two groups. The differences between the two groups were statistically significant in the moral sensitivity score ( p < 0.0001). A significant difference was observed between the mean of moral sensitivity score of the intervention group, before and after the training ( p < 0.001), while no significant change was observed in the control group, before and after the study ( p = 0.93). The spirituality education increased the moral sensitivity of nursing students. That provides a new perspective on the role and effect of spirituality education on the ethical sensitivity of nursing students.

The number of new chronic renal failure patients with hemodialysis therapy continues to increase from year to year in Indonesia. The number of new patients by 2015 is 21050 patients and the number of active patients is 30554 from 249 units of hemodialysis. The quality of life of hemodialysis patients has decreased in physical, psychological, social and environmental dimensions. Mind-body-spirit therapy (Concepts of Islam) focuses on the ability to manage the mindset and psychic that will affect the physical, attitudes and behavior of individuals in addressing their lives. Giving mind-body-spirit therapy to hemodialysis patients to improve quality of life, given for 4 weeks with the frequency twice a week. Pre- experimental study with one group pre-test post-test. The sample of 23 patients with hemodialysis therapy taken by purposive sampling. The WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire was used in this study. Early screening on quality of life was taken in 23 patients (13 men and 10 women, mean age 51.5 years). Mind-body-spirit therapy (Islamic concept) consisted of Tausiyah (cognitive reconstruction), prayer, dhikr and drinking zam-zam water. The quality of life score was evaluated at week 5 after 4 weeks of treatments. All four dimensions of quality of life and quality of life were generally analyzed using Wilcoxon with significant results p <0.05. After the treatments, there is an increase in the quality of life in the physical, psychological, social, environmental, and general quality of life in hemodialysis patients. A mind-body-spirit therapy of 4 weeks is effective for improving the quality of life of patients with chronic renal failure with hemodialysis therapy.

Objective Children living in tuberculosis households need protection. However, families need to be engaged to prevent tuberculosis transmission to children. This study aimed to analyze the details of “moving from fear to realization,” which is one category of a substantive theory of family engagement in tuberculosis prevention in children. Methods Fourteen family caregivers participated as key informants after their families met the criteria. The participants were recruited at a lung clinic in West Java, Indonesia and followed up at their homes. The data were gathered using in-depth interviews and analyzed following the coding procedures of the Straussian grounded theory. Findings “Moving from fear to realization” was the main category that emerged from the experiences of the Sundanese families to begin engaging in tuberculosis prevention in children living in tuberculosis households. It was composed of four sub-categories, namely, fear of tuberculosis, seeking information, following God's will, and awareness of tuberculosis transmission risks. Conclusions This study showed how a family moves from fear to the realization of tuberculosis transmission risks. Its findings are useful for nurses to provide optimum care in order to prevent tuberculosis transmission to children with household contact by providing both education and counseling for families.
