A CPW‐fed band notched wideband circularly polarized ZOR antenna based on CRLH‐TL approach

Abstract: This article presents design and analysis of three wide band zeroth-order resonance antennas (antennas I, II, and III) using composite right and left-handed transmission line (CRLH-TL) approach. Coplanar waveguide technology, single layer via-less structures are used to have the design flexibility. The bandwidth characteristics are analyzed by using lumped parameters of CRLH-TL. By introducing a simple slot in the ground plane of antenna I both bandwidth enhancement and circularly polarization characteristics … Show more

“…The proposed radial CRLH‐TL can be regarded as an open‐circuited CRLH‐TL. For an open‐ending CRLH‐TL, the shunt resonance appears, and the resonant frequency of the 0 mode is determined by the left‐handed inductance and the right‐handed capacitance 10 : fSHgoodbreak=1/2πCRrLLr In this design, the L Lr can be evaluated by regarding the shorted pins as wire inductor, as explained in Ghosh and Das 22 . The C Rr can be evaluated by regarding the combination of the radial radiator and the metal ground as a plate capacitor.…”
