A decrease of sensitivity of adenylyl cyclase and heterotrimeric g-proteins to chorionic gonadotropin and peptide hormones action in the tissues of reproductive system of the rats in the condition of experimental type 2 diabetes

Show more

“…So far, there have been no reports on the influence of very long T2DM on the functioning of the testicular AC system. As for the shortterm type 1 DM and neonatal DM up to six months, there is a decrease of the expression and activity of G s -and G i -proteins, and attenuation of the regulatory effects of gonadotropins and PACAP-38 [12,[59][60][61]. In our view the changes of the testicular AC system we identified in very long neonatal DM, which increase significantly with the disease duration, are one of the factors that cause the dysfunctions of the male reproductive system in T2DM.…”

“…All this leads to a weakening in gonadotropin stimulation of adenylyl cyclase and cAMP signalling in the testes, which have a key role in controlling the steroidogenesis in Leydig cells and regulating the expression and activity of steroidogenic proteins (Manna, Dyson, & Stocco, 2009;Shimizu-Albergine et al, 2016;Sokanovic et al, 2014). We earlier showed a decrease in both basal and hCG-stimulated adenylyl cyclase activity in the testicular membranes isolated from DM2 rats (Derkach et al, 2013;Shpakov, Derkach, & Bondareva, 2010). In DM2, hyperinsulinaemia also has an adverse effect on steroidogenesis (Zhao, Li, The difference between the groups DS and DMfS is significant at the p < .05.…”
