“…The detection limit and the precision of analysis for pulmonary MWCNTs in the present study were checked in the previous study (Tamura et al ., 2011). To check the validity of this method, the lung burdens of male Wistar rats (aged 8 weeks, mean body weight 272 g, range 245–299 g) were determined after a 28‐day inhalation whole‐body MWCNTs exposure (0.37 ± 0.18 mg m −3 ), and compared with our previously reported results for the same inhalation exposure using different methods (Oyabu et al ., 2011).…”

“…In the past decade, multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) polymer composites have attracted strong interest in academia and various industries, such as battery fabrication, 1 optoelectronics 2 and biological tagging, 3 because of their peculiar electrical performance, good°exibility, outstanding chemical stability, heat stability and adsorption characteristics. 4 In addition, MWCNTs have high speci¯c ratios but low density 5 which make them excellent additives to improve the mechanical, 6 tribological 7-9 and rheological properties, 10 decrease the percolation thresholds 11 of the matrix.…”
