A diferença trans no gênero para além da patologização

Abstract

O objetivo deste artigo é criticar a patologização das identidades transgêneras. Para tanto, vamos utilizar o conceito de cisgeneridade e conceitos correlatos como cisgeneridade compulsória e cisnormatividade. Identificamos que a emergência desses conceitos se deu através de problematizações do transfeminismo – corrente feminista que se propõe intersecional no que tange às questões dos sujeitos transgêneros. Concluímos que é urgente que os profissionais de saúde mental estejam abertos a uma perspectiva nova que seja capaz de pensar as subjetividades trans para além da patologia.
