A dimensão regional da desindustrialização brasileira: uma contribuição ao debate nacional

Abstract

The paper notes that in the studies on deindustrialization, the regional dimension has been little approached. To fill this gap, a simple indicator called Regional Relative Deindustrialization Index (IDRR) is developed, and applications are performed by natural region, and Southern and Southeastern UFs. The results obtained by means of a suggestive indicator to the existence of relative regional and regional deindustrialization, with emphasis on the Southeast region. The South Central West regions will have significant positive performance rates for high-technology-intensive seers, at a time when, for the North and Northeast regions or indicator, there will be a positive performance for low-value added sectors.
