A distance e‐learning platform for signal analysis and measurement using FFT

Abstract: ABSTRACT:The fast Fourier transform (FFT) and the power spectrum are still powerful tools for analyzing and measuring both stationary and transient signals in power systems. However, the misapplications of FFT can lead to incorrect results caused by some problems such as aliasing effect, spectral leakage, and picket-fence effect. Measurement errors can be efficiently reduced by understanding fundamentals of FFT as well as loading proper windows. This article develops a distance e-learning environment using a g… Show more

“…Another study suggested that perceived self-efficacy is a critical factor that influences learners' course satisfaction, and perceived usefulness and satisfaction would affect learners' behavioural intention to use the courses (Liaw, 2008). Chen and Lin (2011) demonstrated that the satisfaction and perceived usefulness of the learning system would influence learners' behavioural intentions, and the quality of the learning system is the most critical factor. Another study on the continuous usage intention in mobile payments suggested that self-efficacy, satisfaction, and perceived usefulness are significant antecedents of the user's continuance intention (Gupta et al, 2020).…”

“…Once the “Stop“ button is pressed, data treatment starts. First, a Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) is applied [10,11] to detect the fundamental frequency of the recorded sound. In this first analysis, the frequency is not measured with very high precision however a first approximated value necessary for the next step is obtained.…”
