A Framework for Assessing Green Capacity Utilization Considering CO2 Emissions in China’s High-Tech Manufacturing Industry

Abstract: China’s high-tech manufacturing industry has become the mainstay of the country’s domestic industrial transformation and upgrading. However, in recent years, the industry has experienced huge blind expansion under policy stimulus, which is not good for long-term industrial development. Therefore, this article attempts to explore the extent to which such an important and critical industry in China utilizes its production capacity and provides a basis for future policymaking. Coupled with the country’s increasin… Show more

“…Wang conducted an empirical investigation on green CU in 28 provinces of the Chinese mainland from 2010 to 2015. The results show that: first, China's high-tech industry shows a good overall performance in green Cu, with the western region having the highest green CU, followed by the central and northeast regions, and the eastern region has the lowest green CU 18 . Zhou's research shows that local government intervention has a serious negative impact on regional industrial utilization, and the inhibition degree of factor market segmentation on regional industrial utilization is higher than that of commodity market segmentation 19 .…”

“…Secondly, the current research on low-carbon manufacturing at the macro level focuses on carbon locking in manufacturing [33], green assessment of high-tech manufacturing [34], and green development of manufacturing [35]. At the micro level, it focuses on low-carbon workshop collaborative optimization [36], multi-party low-carbon evolutionary game [37], and low-carbon manufacturing workshop facility layout [38].…”

“…In this paper, the Engle-Granger (EG) test method proposed by Engle and Granger in 1987 was adopted [36]. The Granger theorem links ECM, that is, there must be an ECM expression for a first-order integral variable with a co-integration relationship.…”
