Heat transfer performance with jet impingement quenching of ferrous and non ferrous surface are reviewed for transient cooling condition. The surface rewetting performance during quenching is critically reviewed for various rewetting parameters viz. rewetting temperature, wetting delay, maximum surface heat flux, and rewetting velocity. These rewetting parameters are further assessed for the parameters pertaining to hot surface and coolant. Various published correlations for all the mode of boiling heat transfer and rewetting parameters are also encapsulated in the present review work.
