A generalized variational principle of composite shallow shells and its application to the folded shell

Abstract

In thi~ /,,per. a generali-ed vartatumal l,rinciple of elastodynamies in composite shallow shcll.~ ~ tth edge beams is presented, trod its equivah, nce to corresponding basic equations, ridge conditions and boundary conditions is proved. Then ttus variational principle is applied to the folded shell structure. By means of double series, the approximate anaO'tieal solutions for statics anti dvnamic~ umh'r common houndar)' conditions are obtained. The comparison of our results ~cith FEM computations and experiments shows the analytical soluHons have good convergem'e and their ,ccuracv is quite sati.~factory.
