Research highlights the growing expansion of mobile devices equipped with sensors that enable the adaptation of context-aware applications. Thus, approaches that guide the development of these applications must be investigated. This study presents a framework for the development of a context-aware mobile application, through integrated representation models, architecture, and implementation guidelines, considering principles of modularity, scalability, and compatibility. To verify the assertiveness of the conceptual model and the proposed architecture, an evaluation was conducted with three systems analysts. The experts were able to practice the proposed concepts by answering a feedback questionnaire. The study also included the development of a mobile application with context-aware features, considering the guidelines defined in the framework. The application focused on dietary care and was tested by six nutrition professionals. After using the application for seven days, the professionals answered a context-aware perception questionnaire about the functionalities. Data were analyzed and the results showed that the feedback was satisfactory. Furthermore, the application created from the framework verified the feasibility of the proposed structure through its practical use with software experts and a case study.
