A genetic glimpse of the Chinese straight-tusked elephants

Abstract: Straight-tusked elephants (genus: Palaeoloxodon ) including their island dwarf forms are extinct enigmatic members of the Pleistocene megafauna and the most common Pleistocene elephants after the mammoths.
