A Heuristic Multiobjective Method for Radial Distribution Networks Reconfiguration

Abstract: This paper introduces a novel algorithm for radial distribution networks reconfiguration, called “Sifting algorithm.” It not only has a simple structure but also has high speed and accuracy. It works by eliminating infeasible states and reduces the search space and then it uses a simple method to find optimum answer in remaining space. To ensure the effectiveness of this algorithm, a 16-switch test network was tested and the results were compared with three other well-known algorithms. The results of simulatio… Show more

“…Voropai and Undraal carried out the DSR with DG problem for the power system of Mongolia with single objective function of loss reduction under normal operation condition and reliability improvement after contingency condition based on ant colony algorithm [11]. Shojaeian and Ghandehari introduced sifting algorithm for DSR with an objective of real power loss and voltage deviation reductions and applied to standard 16-bus RDS with advantage of search space reduction using the method of eliminating infeasible typologies [12]. Hong et al presented a DSR for distribution feeder containing photovoltaic arrays using an enhanced PSO algorithm with the objective of avoidance of injection of reverse power into a substation [13].…”

“…Por se tratar de um problema de caráter combinatório, as soluções clássicas de otimização não se apresentam como primeira opção na resolução do problema de reconfiguracão. Heurísticas e meta-heurísticas são as abordagens mais utilizadas na literatura para a resolução do problema de RSDR, Su et al (2005), Shojaeian and Ghandehari (2013) e Oliveira (2011).…”
