A high adhesion co‐assembly based on myclobutanil and tannic acid for sustainable plant disease management

Abstract: BackgroundPesticides are irreplaceable inputs for protecting crops from pests and improving crop yield and quality. Self‐assembly nanotechnology is a promising strategy by which to develop novel nano‐formulations for pesticides. Nano‐formulations improve the effective utilization of pesticides and reduce risks to the environment because of their eco‐friendly preparation, high drug loading, and desirable physicochemical properties. Here, to enhance the utilization efficiency of myclobutanil (MYC) and develop a … Show more

“…It is evident that the variances in preparation strategy and material choices between NMC and NNC systems directly result in essential difference in loading capacity between the two systems. For nanopesticides, the superior loading capacity exhibited by NMC delivery systems can play a crucial role in reducing the dose administered, offering a potential strategy to mitigate the development of pesticide resistance and improve safety [ 40 ].…”

“…This study introduces innovative approaches for creating NMC systems incorporating botanical pesticides. Based on nanoprecipitation method, Li et al [ 40 ] regulated the solvent for precipitating myclobutanil, and during this precipitation process, tannic acid, possessing a noncovalent molecular structure, could interact with myclobutanil. The bound molecules persistently rotated and intertwined through noncovalent interactions, culminating in the formation of a spherical three-dimensional structure (Fig.…”

“…The rainfastness of the samples on the surface of the plant leaf was measured quantitatively by simulating the rainwashing method described in our previous work. 32 Briefly, 1.0 mL of an aqueous suspension of samples with an active ingredient concentration of 100 mg L −1 was evenly sprayed onto the cucumber and tomato leaves on a Petri dish with a tilt angle of 30°from the ground and dried naturally. Then, deionized water was sprayed on the leaves to simulate the rainwater.…”
