“…Recently, numerous boronate affinity materials based on Wulff‐type boronic acids or a new strategy “teamed boronate affinity” have been reported to capture cis ‐diol containing molecules at lower pH . Moreover, a kind of boronic acid named 2,4‐difluoro‐3‐formylphenyl‐boronic acid with high affinity at lower pH has been reported . Considering the steric interference on reaction with amino groups of PEI and enrichment of 1,2‐ cis ‐diol compounds caused by fluorinated substituents, we chose simple boronate ligands.…”

“…These monoliths exhibited various binding properties including binding pH, binding capacity, binding selectivity and binding affinity. For example, branched PEI was modified onto a poly(GMA‐ co ‐MBAA) monolith, further immobilizing 2,4‐difluoro‐3‐formyl‐phenylboronic acid to fabricate a high affinity monolith with binding constants of 10 −6 ‐10 −7 M and low binding pH (≥6.5) . Bifunctional PEI could not only increase the number of boronic acid ligands, but also assist synergistic multivalent binding toward glycoproteins, as shown in Figure A.…”

“…There are several formats that can be adopted by supporting materials which is mainly reliant on different applications. Some of these formats including mesoporous materials [30], nanoparticles [31,32], monoliths [33][34][35][36][37] and molecularly implemented polymers [38,39]. There has been rapid development of the boronate affinity monolithic columns which can be significantly attributed to the merit of both the boronate affinity and monolithic columns.…”
