A highly sensitive red-emitting probe for the detection of viscosity changes in living cells, zebrafish, and human blood samples

Abstract: Intracellular viscosity can be measured to reflect the state of living cells. Fluorescent probes are powerful tools for viscosity detection in vivo.

“…In this context, a fluorescent probe that is capable of simultaneously detecting viscosity and NO in living cells is conceivable; such a probe could provide essential information for understanding cellular oxidative stress and related physiological processes. To date, detection of intracellular viscosity , or NO , in living cells has been performed using fluorescent chemical probes.
