A low profile reconfigurable antenna for defense aircrafts

Abstract: In this paper a low profile frequency reconfigurable antenna is proposed that can conform to the host surface. The proposed design is a pixelated antenna structure with a grid of small metallic patches with RF switches for re-configurability. The prototype of the proposed design is designed on an FR4 substrate with the relative dielectric constant of 4.4 and thickness of 1.6 mm. This antenna is capable of resonating in three different frequencies. The prototype resonates at 10 GHz with return loss of − 12.47 d… Show more

“…In recent years, scientific and technological interest in cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs) has rapidly expanded. Various properties of CNCs including their high surface area, high aspect ratio, high crystallinity, low density, high strength, mechanical flexibility, biodegradability and biocompatibility have been well researched 1,2 . Applications of CNCs have been extensively studied in the fields of aerogels, hydrogels and composites, as well as for electrical and optical devices 3–5 .…”

“…Generally, pH-sensitive polymers, including weak acidic and basic groups that act as poly-electrolytes, are employed. These polymers can be derived from both natural sources (chitosan, gelatin, protein, starch, and cellulose derivatives) [73][74][75][76][77] or synthetic routes (polyanhydrides, α-hydroxy acids, esters, anhydrides, acetals, carbonates, amides, urethanes, phosphates, poly(D,L-lactic acid) (PDLLA), polylactic acid (PLA) (both L-and D, L-lactide forms), poly(glycolic acid) (PGA), and poly(lactic-coglycolic acid) (PLGA)) [78,79]. Numerous pH-sensitive polymeric NPs have been prepared including chitosan, polyanions, a mixture of them, and also cross-linked polymers (nanogels) [80,81].…”

“…The UWB antenna design's primary purpose is to reduce manufacturing efficiency, increase gain, and secure a wide bandwidth while maintaining good radiation efficiency. The compact [2] and low profile antenna [3] system is a unique role over traditional narrowband systems. Also, thin, lightweight, and easy to manufacture planar UWB antennas have received much attention to providing easy wireless access to multimode communication systems.…”
