“…The occurrence of AR in asthmatic patients has been addressed in previous large-scale studies and in the Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma (ARIA) guidelines (31)(32)(33). Our AR prevalence in asthmatic patients (79%) is higher than studies in Saudi Arabia (33%) (34), Iran (47%) (35), Japan (67%) (36), Italy (60%) (37), and France (66%) (38) but is lower than the United States (94%) (39). There was concordance between the ISAAC-definition of AR and clinical diagnoses, indicating that diagnosis by clinicians was as reliable as the standard questionnaire used in epidemiological surveys.…”

“…House dust mites (HDM) are considered as one of the most important indoor aeroallergens developing allergic diseases 37 which with about 39 and 38 allergenic molecules has been being recognized for Dermatophagoides farina and Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus respectively (http://www.allergome.org). According to a meta‐analysis by Shokouhi et al, a 38% prevalence of HDM sensitization has been reported in Iran 38 . Among house dust mite allergens in the FABER profile, Der p 2 and Der f 2 which belong to the NPC2 protein family 39 were the most prevalent.…”
