A Method for Correcting the Interference of Overlapping Absorption Lines Using Second Harmonic Spectral Reconstruction

Abstract: The measurement accuracy of trace gas detection based on infrared absorption spectroscopy is influenced by the overlap of absorption lines. A method for correcting the interference of overlapping absorption lines using second harmonic spectral reconstruction (2f-SR) is proposed to improve the measurement accuracy. 2f-SR includes three parts: measurement of gas temperature and use of the differences in temperature characteristics of absorption lines to correct the temperature error, 2f signal restoration based … Show more

“…Some scholars use the ethanol signal variable correction model to improve the detection accuracy [6] [7] . Adding a reference optical path to eliminate the background interference of water vapor is also an effective means [8][9][10][11][12][13][14] . Gao et al proposed to use an ICL laser with a wide tuning range and a multi-wavelength detection algorithm to correct the fitting relationship between the 2f signal and the ethanol concentration, the maximum error was 2ppm*m [15] .…”

“…However, in addition to a high measurement sensitivity, achieving a high speci city often poses an even greater challenge due to overlapping of the absorption spectra of different components 21 . Such an overlapping makes it di cult to retrieve the corresponding concentrations from the observed absorption peaks, especially when a large number of gas species are present in the gas mixture sample 26,27 .…”
