“…Moreover, the results for all the elements have acceptable symmetry considering the generally high errors in the second moment experiment. 9 Therefore, the assumption of axis symmetric used in the previous analysis is reasonable. Figure 9 shows t m at all the test points in the Winpak-250X reaction element.…”

“…5−7 Modern structured catalytic column internals have played a significant role in expending the fields of application of reactive distillation and extending its use to new applications. 1,8,9 The selection of appropriate column internals for specific catalytic distillation processes is an essential design element. 10 The application of modular catalytic structured packing (MCSP), for example, Multipak, 6,11 Katapak-SP 12,13 is development tendency.…”

“…The experiments about hydrodynamics performances in the column (600 mm inner diameter, 1500 mm height) have been performed by Gao et al to evaluate the liquid flow behaviors and pressure drop. , Compared to two other conventional column internals, Sulzer Katapak-SP 12 and catalyst bundles, the novel structure of SCPI resulted in a significantly decreased pressure drop in the column, and the liquid holdup of the SCPI was always higher within the range of acceptable performance for an equivalent catalyst loading . Based on the hydrodynamic experiments, rigorous mathematical models have been proposed by Li et al and Zhang et al to predict the pressure drop of the SCPI and composition profiles for catalytic distillation processes. However, no reactive distillation experiments using SCPI have been reported.…”
