A Mixture of Exogenous Emulsifiers Increased the Acceptance of Broilers to Low Energy Diets: Growth Performance, Blood Chemistry, and Fatty Acids Traits

Abstract: To investigate the influence of emulsifiers on broilers fed low-energy diets, the birds were distributed into three sets—the control was fed the basal diet, the second group was fed diets 50 kcal/kg less than control, and the third group was fed diets 50 kcal/kg less than control and supplemented with 500 g/ton of emulsifiers. The used mixture of exogenous emulsifiers contains phosphatidyl choline, lysophosphatidyl choline, and polyethylene glycol ricinoleate. Although the feed intake was not meaningfully affe… Show more

“…The analysis of superficial pectoral muscle FAs was conducted on 48 birds (1 bird per replicate; 12 birds per treatment) using gas-liquid chromatography (GLC) as described by [21,22]. The concentrations of muscle vitamin E [23] and liver thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS) [24] were also determined.…”

“…As a result of increasing demand, limited supply, and a dramatic increase in the prices of feed ingredients, suitable alternative sources for poultry feed have recently been intensively studied [1,2]. Feed cost may account for more than 70% of the total production costs of broilers [3,4]. Any reduction in feed costs, which still preserves the health status of broilers, is bound to have a direct positive effect on the profitability of poultry production.…”

“…Chickens are suffering from various stressors that occur on the farm, including high density, heat stress and diseases (Saleh et al, 2020). Microelements are essential in maintaining the health and growth of chicks due to its vital physiological and biological roles (Dawood, Koshio, Zaineldin, Van Doan, Ahmed, et al, 2019;Dawood, Koshio, Zaineldin, Van Doan, Moustafa, et al, 2019;Dawood, Zommara, Eweedah, & Helal, 2019;Hassan, 2018;Mahmoud, Ijiri, Ebeid, & Ohtsuka, 2016).…”
