“…The nomenclature for the Vb peptide gene products is essentially that of Mak's group Clark et al, 1995). Although potent xenoantisera can be raised to the b1 peptide (Dedeoglu et al, 1991;Hubbard et al, 1989), we have found it to serve as a good negative control in studies of naturally occurring autoantibodies. The affinity purified human autoantibodies bind best to the cognate Vb8.1 peptide, but appreciable binding is noted to several other peptides including the Vb homologs 9.2 and 23.1.…”
