A Movement-System-Impairment Approach to the Evaluation and Treatment of a Patient with Piriformis Syndrome: A Case Report

Abstract: Background Piriformis syndrome (PS) is described as entrapment of the sciatic nerve at the level of the piriformis muscle. Selecting the most effective conservative treatment for PS continues to be a challenge. The movement-system-impairment (MSI) approach is based on the association of symptoms with incorrect movements of the hip. The purpose of this case report was to describe the MSI-based approach to diagnosis in a patient with PS.
