Abstract:Development of in silico models are intrinsic in understanding disease progression in soft biological tissues. Within this work, we propose a fully-coupled Lagrangian finite element framework which replicates the process of in-stent restenosis observed post stent implantation in a coronary artery. Coupled advection-reaction-diffusion reactions are set up that track the evolution of the concentrations of the platelet-derived growth factor, the transforming growth factor-β, the extracellular matrix, and the dens… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
