Digital watermarking has been proposed as a solution to the problem of copyright protection of multimedia documents in networked environments. It makes possible to tightly associate a code (called a watermark) to an image allowing the identification of the data creator. owner and so on. In this paper, we give a brief review of current research on digital image watermarking. multimedia data (e.g., digital audio, still images) and digital video.In order to be effective, an imperceptible watermark should meet the following requirements [ 1,2,3]:unobtrusive: it should be statistically and perceptually invisible to avoid data quality degradation and to prevent an attacker from finding and deleting it; readily extractable: the data owner or an independent control authority should easily extract it;
