A Network-Based Method for Modeling Pedestrian Evacuation in Indoor Areas

Abstract: We develop a method to formulate pedestrians' route choice behavior and physical congestion during evacuation process in indoor areas with internal obstacles. This method first constructs a network through discretizing the pedestrian space and then employs a proposed cell transmission model to predict the pedestrian flow's evolution propagation over time and space in the network.
