A new method for maximum power extraction using a singular perturbation theory for a PMSG‐based wind turbine

Abstract: This study uses the singular perturbation theory to obtain a reduced‐order subsystem for a wind‐energy conversion system (WECS) based on use of a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) to extract maximum power from a WECS. The system consists of a variable‐speed wind turbine directly coupled to a PMSG, a diode bridge rectifier, a DC‐to‐DC boost converter, and a battery bank.
